Great explorations. #6 is very effective at driving the eye to the table-top and the objects there (important!). I love how the stove radiates a light on the floor of the room to the left. One thing you tried that could still be done, but with less intensity than in the other versions, is introducing some light from the window, and it would gently highlight the edge of the Christmas tree and cast one of the only sharp shapes in the illustration (but not a strong, i.e. super bright, lighting -- more just a few degrees brighter than the colors without that light). Very intimate and spot on for the Gift of the Magi.
